Whiskers for the Water

Two years ago, I participated in a online beard growing collaboration called Whiskerino. Although fun, interesting and a great place to meet people from all over the world, I grew tired of the mass of hair weighing down my face and ended up shaving about a month short of the 120 day event. Two years later, Whiskerino is back on, and I want to not only participate fully but do so for a good cause. Thus, I am asking for pledges to guarantee my participation for the full 120 days towards a non-profit organization that I truly feel needs support: Oceana.

Basically, it works like this – I pledge not to shave (except my neck…just too hairy) for 120 days starting November 1st, 2009 until February 28th, 2010 if people contribute at least .05 USD per day. For example:

120 days X .05 USD = $6.00
or
120 days X .10 USD = $12.00
or
120 days X .15 USD = $18.00

and so forth…

If I don’t make it, I refund the balance via Paypal, but I will make it because I feel the world’s oceans are in great peril (overfishing, pollution, development).
